Tari Jahns, CEO United Way of South Wood & Adams Counties
Creating lasting change is not easy. You need vision – a direction to go and a road map to get there – a mission. United Way’s vision for our communities resides within our Agenda for Change and our desire to create a better life for all by focusing on the building blocks of a better life: education, income, health & safety net services. We invest in 30 local programs, 6 coalitions and 10 initiatives that are strengthening the community by offering a hand up to those who need it. That investment comes from your donor dollars. You are making a huge impact right here in your own community and together we are creating lasting change. When we work together, we are successful. When everyone gives what they are able; $5, $500 or $5,000 (there is no right size gift) nearly one in three people are impacted by that generosity and caring spirit. You have heard the saying many hands make light work, well that is the beauty of the United Way system in that donations from many help even more. My heartfelt thanks to each of you who have donated to this year’s campaign. We simply cannot do all of the great work we are doing without you, after all change does not happen alone. If you are still considering what your gift might be, I encourage you to look at our website, be inspired and see all of the great work that is happening; www.uwswac.org. Thank you for joining us in our vision of making our communities a great place for all!
