MyFreeTaxes.com Makes an Impact in South Wood & Adams Counties

For a fifth year in a row, United Way of South Wood & Adams Counties partnered with United Way Worldwide and MyFreeTaxes.com to offer a free and easy way to file federal and state tax returns for free for south Wood and Adams Counties residents.

 

This year, our local program experienced a total of 25 tax filers who received an average refund amount of $2,205.00.  Last year we saw 66 tax filers (with an average age of 47) who received an average refund amount of $966.74. 

 

MyFreeTaxes.com is a safe, easy and completely free way for individuals or families to file their state and federal taxes.  The features allowed most filers to complete their taxes in under one hour. MyFreeTaxes.com users received access to schedule C options this year as well.  Also with the online tool it allowed filers check for any missed stimulus payments.

 

 

About the South Wood County Financial Stability Coalition

 

The goal of the Financial Stability Coalition is community members learn skills to become financially independent.  Financial Stability, a United Way of South Wood & Adams Counties Coalition, was created by local business leaders, financial institutions, community programs, and community members who are concerned about financial stability issues.  The Coalition comes together the second Wednesday of every month working collectively on methods and strategies to address and overcome these issues.
