Lifeline
enTouch is made possible by a government assistance program called Lifeline. The Lifeline program provides low-income Wisconsin residents affordable access to essential telecommunications by discounting the cost of phone, cell and internet services. All landline telephone companies providing local residential service in Wisconsin are required to offer this program to their residential customers. Many, but not all, wireless providers participate in these programs.
Eligibility
In order to be eligible, households must be participating in one of the following qualifying programs: Medicaid; FoodShare; Supplemental Security Income (SSI); Federal public housing assistance (Section 8); Veterans and Survivors Pension Benefit; or if the household’s income is below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
Only one account per household may receive a lifeline discount. The amount of support received depends on which services a household is participating in, but providers can say the exact amount.
Before contacting the provider go to www.lifelinesupport.org or call 608-267-3595 to find out if the household is eligible for the service. Once eligibility has been approved, contact the telephone or internet provider.
