Why do you support United Way of South Wood & Adams Counties?
It’s a way to help our neighbors. We all know somebody that’s been affected by a United Way partner program. We like to give to United Way because of the accountability and because local volunteers make decisions. We know our contribution will do what we hope it will do.
What is your favorite memory of United Way?
United Way Day at McDonald’s! It’s always fun and popular. We make sure we get there that day. It’s an opportunity to meet other people from United Way (volunteers, donors) and a diverse group of people with the same core of values.
What do you wish other people knew about United Way?
It’s local! And that United Way measures outcomes. United Way isn’t putting a band aid on the problems but solving issues. It’s not just a hand out but a hand up. There’s a variety of ways to help out including volunteering and everyone can make a difference no matter the amount.
