About United Way Born Learning Academy

As parents, you are your child’s first and best teacher! Your child began learning the moment he or she was born and United Way wants to support you through this wonderful and enriching time.

United Way’s Born Learning Academy is a FREE opportunity for families to meet other families in the community and learn how to take everyday moments and turn them into teachable ones.

Any family residing in south Wood County with an infant, toddler or preschool aged child is encouraged to register.

This Academy is a series of six free workshops that meets once a week for 90 minutes. During this time families will enjoy a delicious meal, free childcare and discussions with a trained facilitator.  We will talk about health, nutrition, sleep, daily routines, brain development and what are appropriate behaviors for kids in all different ages and stages.

The goal of these workshops is to have fun and try new things!

United Way Born Learning Academies were developed by Dr. Jaesook Gilbert and Dr. Helene Arbouet Harte in partnership with United Way of Greater Cincinnati Success By 6 and Kenton County Public Schools in Kentucky.
