About the Volunteer Center
Established in 1990, the Volunteer Center works to mobilize and inspire people to utilize their talents and enhance our community. We serve as a clearinghouse of volunteer opportunities from agencies and people in the community looking for volunteer opportunities.
We also foster volunteer recognition through the annual Volunteer Recognition Breakfast and monthly Volunteer Spotlight; we offer training and support to organizations that utilize volunteers through our Volunteer Coordinators of SWAC and monthly agency visits; and we work on several annual volunteer events, such as Day of Caring and the Homeless Point in Time Count.
Lastly, we coordinate our local Disaster Volunteer Reception Center, which helps process volunteers who wish to volunteer after a disaster.
